BARTON COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident just after 10:30a.m. Tuesday in Barton County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2013 GMC Acadia driven by Bertha J. Johnson, 76, Kimball, Nebraska, was southbound on U.S. 281 at Northeast 30 Road. The driver stated she did not see a turn signal on a northbound 2019 Ford Transit XL driven by Peggy K. Kasper, 73, Great Bend, who was stopped waiting to turn east. Johnson attempted to pass the Ford on the right. Johnson did not react intime and rear-ended the Ford. The impact pushed the Ford into the northbound lane where it struck the driver side of a 2026 Lincoln Aviator driven by Lois L. Dean, 65, Great Bend.
EMS transported Johnson to Wesley Meidcal Center and Kasper to the hospital in Great Bend. Dean was not transported. All three drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
