Scott Taylor Keast, 73, passed away peacefully at his home in Larned on Oct. 5, 2023, from complications brought on by multiple sclerosis. He was born July 28, 1950, in Great Bend; the first of eight children born to Donald and Virgina Keast.
Scott was a graduate of Larned High School and attended Ft. Hays State College. He also served in the local National Guard unit and spent his life doing what he loved most, which was farming.
Scott is survived by seven brothers and sisters; Mary Bryant (Jim), Becky Traylor (Mike), Sarah Culver (Cal); all of Rogers, Ark.; Bob Keast (Debbie), Mike Keast (Yvonne), Jim Keast all of Larned; Duane Keast (Angie) Salina. Daughters Jennifer Gillespie (Rusty) St. John; Julie Schooler (Jeremy) Manhattan; Jacque Kneebone (Kelly) DeSoto; Ryan Keast, Winnemucca, Nev.; step-son Michael Ashley (Jessica), San Diego, Calif. Grandchildren; Taylor Casper, Braxton Schooler, Carsyn Schooler, Max Kneebone, Jamie Kneebone, Gabby Kneebone, Tanner Kneebone, Holden Ashley. Great-grandchild, Chloe Casper. He is also survived by the mother of his children Terry Bauer, Pawnee Rock andseven former wife Belinda Bagby, Hutchinson.
At Scott’s request, cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. A private gathering will be held at a later date.
