Bombers Baseball 16U won the University of Kansas – 16U World Series this weekend in Lawrence. The team went 4-0 in pool play, securing the number 1 seed in the bracket. The championship game saw the Bombers down 4-1 going into the bottom of the 4th inning. The 5-run bottom of the 4th innings put the Bombers on top 6-4 and added 3 more runs in the 6th to eventually win 9-4 over Mammoth Rattlers (Topeka Area players). The Bombers had .450 team batting average over the weekend and pitchers had a 2.85 team ERA, 29 strikeouts and 14 walks allowed.
Bombers travel to Oklahoma City for a Big Fire Wood Bat Championship next weekend.
