Great Bend Post
During City Administrator Logan Burns’ update at Monday’s Great Bend City Council meeting, Burns noted the Public Works department is staying busy tending to multiple street issues.
City officials believe a semi-truck rolled over the storm sewer at the intersection of 10th Street and Main Street. The storm sewer is blocked off as the city is waiting on pricing to get the area fixed.
Burns also noted large potholes needing attention at the McDonald’s exit and the entrance to The University of Kansas Health System hospital on McKinley Street.
"We have some pretty deep potholes," said Burns. "We've done some patches on there, but we'll look to tear all of that out and put a full-depth concrete patch into that. As we get a little bit closer to that, we'll get with the hospital, McDonald's and all the businesses around there to make sure we're all covered on logistics."
City crews are still working near 24th Street, where there was a water main break on Sunset Road. Great Bend will let the flowable fill cure before surfacing the street.
