The Lovegrass Music Festival is returning to Wilson State Park for its 9th annual celebration of bluegrass music, arts, and community on Aug. 6–8, 2026, bringing nationally acclaimed performers, hands-on workshops, camping, and family-friendly activities to one of Kansas' most scenic destinations.
Presented by the Lovegrass Music Festival Association, the three-day event remains accessible to everyone through its unique donation-based admission model, allowing attendees to register for free while encouraging voluntary contributions that sustain the festival's mission to bring the bluegrass arts to rural Kansas.
This year's lineup features nationally recognized acts including East Nash Grass, Johnny Mullenax, The Matchsellers, Debutants, 80 Proof Alice, Tornado Rose, Shakedown Strings, Tom Pevear, BreAnne Stone, Tequila, Rudy & the Lost Boys and more, along with instrument workshops, artisan demonstrations, children's activities, late-night jam sessions, local vendors, and camping overlooking beautiful Wilson Lake.
The festival continues to grow as one of Kansas' premier bluegrass destinations while remaining committed to its educational mission. In addition to world-class performances, attendees can participate in workshops covering traditional bluegrass instruments as well as artisan skills including blacksmithing, leatherworking, and painting.
The Lovegrass Music Festival Association is proud to announce that the festival has received significant support this year through grants from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation and the Schmidt Foundation, as well as funding from the Russell County Convention & Visitors Bureau/Economic Development. These investments help ensure the festival can continue to provide high-quality programming while keeping admission accessible to families and music lovers from across the region.
"These partnerships are making it possible for us to continue growing while staying true to our mission," said Aimee Riegel, Executive Director of the Lovegrass Music Festival Association. "We're incredibly grateful to the Dane G. Hansen Foundation, the Schmidt Foundation, and Russell County CVB/Economic Development for believing in what we're building. Their support allows us to bring nationally touring musicians, educational programming, and meaningful cultural experiences to rural Kansas while keeping the festival open to everyone."
Since its founding in 2017, the Lovegrass Music Festival has welcomed thousands of visitors to Wilson State Park, creating both cultural and economic benefits for the surrounding communities. The nonprofit Lovegrass Music Festival Association works year-round to promote bluegrass music through concerts, educational programming, workshops, and community events throughout North Central Kansas.
Festival registration is now open. Primitive camping and VIP experiences are limited and are expected to sell out.
