Gladys Mae Brack, 90, passed away on October 20, 2022, at Cumbernauld Village, Winfield, Kan. She was born on May 10, 1932, on the family farm, outside of Albert, Kan., to Fred & Anna (Hemken) Harders. On July 20, 1952, she married Billy Brack at Trinity Lutheran Church in Great Bend, Kan. He passed on July 26, 2014.
Residing in Winfield since 2015, Gladys was a longtime resident of rural Albert, moving to Great Bend in 1997. Gladys took pride in being a farm wife and was very active in the day to day duties. A life time member of the Lutheran denomination, she was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran in rural Albert, was a former member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Great Bend, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Winfield. Gladys was a committed church member who dedicated many years of service as a Sunday School teacher. She loved to crochet and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include four sons, Paul (Karen) Brack of Paola, Kan., Mark (Lisa) Brack of Albert, Kan., Charles (Tammy) Brack of Sedgwick, Kan., and Norman (Vickie) Brack of Beauford, Mo.; two daughters, Mary (Chris) Kellogg of Gallup, N. Mex., and Judy (Martin) Ray of Winfield; twenty-three grandchildren; and thirty-three great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; six brothers, Alan, Ralph, Delmer, Robert, Martin, and Marion Harders; and a sister, Marge Murphy.
Visitation will take place from Noon to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Bryant Funeral Home, with family receiving guests from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Hoisington, Kan., with Pastor Gary Wolf presiding. Memorials have been designated to Cumbernauld Village or Lutheran Heritage Foundation or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
