DCS Services was in charge of receiving all the bids to overlay and make roof repairs to the Roosevelt Elementary School building in Hoisington.
Of the three bids received, Roofmasters Roofing provided the lowest bid, but USD 431 Superintendent Patrick Crowdis said DCS Services recommended Wray Roofing.
"We have a relationship with Wray Roofing that stretches back to the roof at the high school and Activity Center that were redone," said Crowdis. "We feel like that all-inclusive bid with a 20-year warranty will do exactly what the bid asks for."
The Roofmasters’ bid included contingency items if the company incurred certain issues, potentially making their bid higher than Wray.
The Hoisington Board of Education voted to have Wray Roofing handle the project for $420,757.90. USD 431 will use $100,000 from their contingency fund with the remaining balance paid for through the capital outlay.
