Norma Hooton, age 70

Norma Jean Hooton, 70, passed away Jan. 11, 2024 at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, Larned.

She was born July 27, 1953 in Larned, the daughter of Shirley Ann Jackson Clark.

She was a lifetime area resident and worked as the Communications Supervisor at Larned Police Department. She was member of APCO International, and a past member of Beta Phi Gamma Journalism Fraternity at Barton County Junior College. Norma loved spending time with her family, baking, sewing, gardening and enjoying her grandchildren. She loved attending her son’s & grandchildren’s sporting events.

On July 28, 1979 she married Richard Hooton Jr. at Larned; he survives.

Other survivors include: son, Adam (Carrie) Hooton, Aledo, Texas; four brothers, Rick (Shuan Wang) Clark, Monrovia, Calif., Daniel Clark, Lakewood, Colo., Jeffrey (Stephanie) Clark, Larned, Joel Clark, Larned; one sister, Sandra Clark, Dodge City; three grandchildren; Alexa, Cora, Brock Hooton, Aledo, Texas; sister-in-law Anna Clark, St. John.

She was preceded in death by her mother; brother Edward Clark and sister-in-law Maxine Clark.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2024 at Beckwith Mortuary with Pastor Damon Bradley presiding. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024 at Beckwith Mortuary with family present from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned, Kansas.
