The brick is now complete on the entry and all around the Great Bend Justice Center. McCownGordon Construction pushes forward with the building at the 12th Street and Baker Avenue intersection that will house the new police station and municipal court.
Great Bend Interim City Administrator Logan Burns said window
frames are approximately 50% complete with the glass 30 days out. The
EIFS, or exterior surface above the bricks, will likely begin this week.
"We have moved the fencing back into the alley now," said Burns. "We're prepping to do all the site work and utilities. That's probably three weeks out. We still have access to all utilities in case of an emergency."
The alley to the west of the Justice Center is closed, but Burns said the city
did work with the business owners that make use of the alley.
The $8.8 million project is expected to be finished by September.
