The splash pad opens Monday and the pool will follow suit in less than two weeks in Hoisington. The city’s $3 million project constructed a splash pad, along with a new pool last summer at Bicentennial Park.
Hoisington City Manager
Jonathan Mitchell said the splash pad opens Monday, May 15 and the pool will
open its gates May 27 with new features.
"We have a new parking lot," said Mitchell. "It will be concrete so you don't have to worry about falling in the dirt parking lot. It's ADA accessible. We'll have handicap stalls and a ramp instead of the stairs we had last year."
Last year, Hoisington struggled to find lifeguards, but this summer there
are 15 lifeguards hired and two new managers. The city is also offering season
pool passes to individuals or families who are not provided free admission to
the pool. A pass is $50 for an individual and $100 for a family pass. If interested, contact the city office at 620-653-4125.
