Kent Kendall Schriner, age 76, passed away at his home in Albert, Kansas, on the morning of May 4, 2023. He was born on January 31, 1947, in Great Bend, to Elmer J. & Marjorie L. (Dirks) Schriner. He married Ellen Dinkel on May 24, 1969, at Hays, Kansas.
In addition to spending a lifetime in Albert, Kent was a farmer, stockman and professional supervisor. He served as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for Albert and Otis, as well as the Albert Fire Department. Kent was a decorated Vietnam veteran who proudly served in the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife Ellen; two sons, Jesse Schriner and wife Sabra of Seattle, Washington and Joey Schriner and wife Roxanna of West Chester, Ohio; and two granddaughters, Alexa and Rienna; two grandsons, Ethan and Zachary; and his favorite great-grandson, Roman Schriner. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Randy.
Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 9, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Schumacher presiding. Interment will be in the Golden Belt Memorial Park in Great Bend, with Military Rites conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Memorials have been designated to Albert Fire Department, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
