Elderly person abused report, man arrested in Great Bend

On Sunday, April 21, at approximately 2:35 p.m., a report was filed with officers of the Great Bend Police Department in regards to mistreatment of a dependent adult/elder person and criminal threats. Officers were advised that an elderly person was being physically abused, as well as confined to a local residence.

During the investigation, officers and detectives gathered information about where the suspect was currently residing, and a search warrant was obtained for a residence in the 1700 block of Morton Street. At approximately 6:30 p.m., the search warrant was executed.

The suspect, Dallas Mills, age 27, was located and placed under arrest. During a subsequent search of the residence for relevant evidence, multiple firearms were located. Mills is a convicted felon for previous violent crimes, and by state law, he is prohibited from being in possession of firearms. Marijuana and paraphernalia were also located inside the residence. Mills was transported to the Barton County Jail where he was booked in lieu of $50,000 bond.
