Larry Trout, age 76

Larry Elmer Trout, 76, formerly of Bushton, Kansas, passed away on August 1, 2022 at Webster, Texas.  Larry was born to Elmer and Emma Trout on July 24, 1946 in Great Bend, KS. He was raised on the family farm in Olmitz, KS and graduated from Hoisington High School. Larry often reminisced on fond memories of time spent with his parents, brother, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his Aunt Virginia Berlin of Boulder, CO and several loving cousins.

            Larry shared 43 years of marriage with Laura, the love of his life, who survives him. He is also survived by three children: Dawn Trout of Rocky Ford, CO; Danny Trout of Lake Jackson, TX; and Crystal Trout of Lake Jackson, TX; and four grandchildren: Dylan Mortimore (& fiancé Madison Cotterill) of Ellinwood, KS; Layne Trout of Rocky Ford, CO; and Emma Trout of Lake Jackson, TX. Larry is survived by his Brother-in-law, Scott (Ashley) Temple of Olmitz, KS; Sister-in-law Vicky (Richard) Romero of Longmont, CO; Sister-in-law Jo Temple of Bushton, KS; and Mother-in-law Karen Allison of Bushton, KS.

            In addition to being a loving Husband, Father, and Papa, Larry loved raising cattle, working on projects including cars, tractors, houses, etc., and making people laugh.  He never knew a stranger and could spend hours talking to people he just met.  Throughout his entire life, Larry held an unwavering faith in God and was proud to share his Catholic Faith with others.

            Larry joins his parents, Elmer and Emma Trout; his brother, Paul Trout; his daughter, Charlie Trout; and his Father-in-law Larry Temple in Heaven.

            Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Great Bend, Kansas with a Rosary recited at 6:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 12th at 10:30am also at St. Rose Catholic Church with interment to follow in Hoisington Cemetery at Hoisington, Kansas.
