The City of Russell recognized Jeff Hogan as the recipient of the Employee of the Quarter for quarter three in 2024.
Jeff has been a dedicated member of our team for 27 years. Jeff serves as our Golf Course Superintendent and ensures that the Russell Municipal Golf Course remains in pristine condition and ready for play daily. This often requires weekend and long-hour commitments to prepare for the summer golf season and tournaments. His dedication and commitment allows us to provide our community with a valuable quality-of-life experience within our community that is a draw not only for our locals but from visitors far and wide.
Jeff’s leadership in his position of superintendent has allowed for continued progress even amidst budget constraints. The preventative maintenance and care provided for the equipment in his department is unmatched, providing for longevity and minimal costly repairs. Jeff is extremely budget-conscientious and considers the needs of the City as a whole when proposing the needs of his department. This big-picture outlook has served the City and golf course well.
In his nomination, Jeff is described as a true working supervisor. He sets high expectations for his staff and works alongside them to ensure work is taken care of in the manner it should be, always willing to jump in. There is no task he would ask of his employees, that he himself would not take on.
