Lois Burr Combs born Aug. 23, 1928 to Frank and Jessie Burr, passed away Feb. 3, 2024, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Lois graduated from Bird City High School, Bird City, in 1946, and attended Ft. Hays State University where she met Lee Combs and married on Nov. 26, 1948. They had two daughters, Lisa and Laurel, and moved from Spearville to Lebanon. Lee retired from his teaching and administrative career moving to Larned in 1984. Lee passed away in 1988. Lois was a member of the Larned First Christian Church and Women’s Fellowship Group. She was also a church representative to the Pawnee County Food Pantry and a clerk at C.W.F. thrift shop and was also a past member of St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Lee, and granddaughter, Leah Walter, sister, Melba Herrman and husband Ben, and her brother, Bill Burr, wife Darlene and nephew Richard.
Survivors are daughters Lisa Walter and husband Phillip, Laurel Younger and husband Les, grandson Bryce Younger and wife Leslie and two great granddaughters Avery Younger and Quinn Younger. Lois also is survived by two nieces and one nephew.
Graveside services will be held at Larned Cemetery Friday, Feb. 9 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Bill Stapleton presiding. Visitation will be held at Beckwith Mortuary Larned on Thursday Feb. 8 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with family present from 3 to 5 p.m.
