Beth Rein started her career with USD 428 in Great Bend in 1997 as a sixth grade teacher at Riley Elementary School. Rein became the principal at Riley in 2019 and announced her resignation effective at the end of the school year.
USD 428 Superintendent Khris Thexton said staff and a committee interviewed and recommend Lisa Starr to become the next principal at Riley for the 2025-2026 school year.
"We had our panel that interviewed and they also had a staff panel that was there," said Thexton. "She did a very good job. She'll be a good person to replace Beth."
The Board of Education approved the hiring of Starr in the personnel report presented at Wednesday’s luncheon. Starr currently serves as an instructional coach at Riley.
"She'll do a great job," added Thexton. "I'm looking forward to her taking over."
