Barton Community College volleyball outside hitter Phoebe Reyes has been selected to represent her home country of the Dominican Republic at the U21 NORCECA Continental Championships currently going on in Toronto, Canada.
Reyes, who became the program's 30th All-America selection with a second team honor this past fall is one of 12 players participating on the Dominican Republic team trying to qualify their nation into the 2025 Women's U21 World Championships.
The Dominican Republic will feature in Group A and play matches against the United States (June 25), Puerto Rico (June 26) and Suriname (June 27). The top six-teams in the tournament will advance to an elimination bracket that culminates with the Gold Medal match on June 30. The top four teams qualify their respective nations into the 2025 Women's U21 World Championships.
Voted the Freshman of the Year and the Most Valuable Player in the KJCCC and Region VI by member coaches, ranked 4th in kills per set (3.46) and attack percentage (.275) in three rotations of the Cougars' 6-2 offensive set leading Barton to the top conference spot of kills per set and second in attack percentage.
