
On Friday, Feb. 10 at approximately 3:21 a.m., officers from the Great Bend Police Department were dispatched to a residence on Rosewood Drive in reference to a burglary in progress.
Prior to officers' arrival, the reporting party was still inside of the residence and locked herself into a room to get away from the suspect who had kicked the front door in.
The reporting party identified the suspect as Ryan Lang, age 32. Officers observed the front door of the residence to be kicked open. K-9 Menta was deployed on scene and entered the residence with multiple officers. Lang was located in a bedroom inside.
Lang was given multiple warnings to comply with the orders given by officers. Lang did not comply so K-9 Menta was deployed and then multiple officers apprehended Lang. Lang was arrested and transported to the Barton County Jail where he was booked in lieu of bond on charges of aggravated burglary, felony interference with law enforcement, battery LEO (x4), harm to a police dog, criminal trespass and criminal damage to property.
