In July, Margaret Huntwork announced she was selling her Leann's restaurant after 40 years in Great Bend. The business has sold but will not continue on as Leann's. The restaurant at 2520 10th Street will close its doors for the final time on Friday, Sept. 27.

"We wish to thank all our loyal customers who supported us throughout the good times and the bad," Huntwork said. "We've enjoyed sharing life's ups and downs. We wish our very best to everyone and we will miss you."

Leann's started as a small hamburger and ice cream shack located at 23rd Street and Washington Ave. in Great Bend in 1984. Huntwork moved the restaurant to its current location on 10th Street in 1991, and expanded its menu. Tammy Helfrich has worked alongside Huntwork for 39 years.
