
From the City of Russell...
The Russell Community Impact Award Committee announced Andrea Krug Krauss as the recipient of the February 2025 Russell Community Impact Award. This award recognizes individuals, businesses, or organizations whose exceptional contributions have significantly enriched the fabric of the Russell community.
Andrea's nomination describes her as a driving force behind many community projects through her involvement in multiple community organizations. Her leadership through organizations such as Rotary, Russell PRIDE, Inc., and Russell Development, Inc. have been instrumental in development efforts within our community. She has spent countless hours writing grants and volunteering her time and effort to make many projects in Russell possible, such as the Holland Hotel renovation to create new housing opportunities, the Maker Space Project to promote workforce and economic development, and community improvement projects such as the Rotary splash pad, Memorial Park walking trail, and the bridge in Fossil Park.
Andrea has also served the community through representation on the USD 407 School Board, the Russell County Hospital Board, Russell Area Chamber of Commerce, and through various leadership positions in our local and district Rotary club. Andrea's efforts to make improvements within the community to support housing, economic development, and quality of life display her commitment toward the community's continued development and have made notable contributions to its development and growth.
As the winner of the Russell Community Impact Award, Andrea received a $250 donation to the non-profit of her choice. Andrea chose the IDEA Works Maker Space as the recipient.
