The Barton County Sheriff's Office will conduct a Handgun Safety Training Course from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Saturday April 27th at the Sheriff's Office Range and Training Facility, 396 Northeast 30 Road east of the Great Bend landfill. The course is an 8-hour basic firearms safety class that is required before an individual can apply for a concealed carry handgun permit. Training will be provided by Kansas law enforcement officers. Cost is $50 per person and participants must be 18 years of age or older. A light lunch will be provided. Call the Barton County Sheriff’s Office for more information.
