Kassidy Nixon of the No. 7 ranked Barton Community College volleyball team has been named the Week 11 KJCCC Offensive Player of the Week.
The sophomore outside hitter led the Cougars to a pair of conference sweeps last week while also capturing the program's second straight and programs 22nd Jayhawk Conference title.
Turning in an all-around performance for the week, Nixon swung it at a .264 mark, averaging 3.17 kills per set on 54 swings and defensively with 3.00 digs per set.
Nixon started her week recording her third straight and 12th double-double of the season behind 13 kills and 13 digs in a quick 3-0 sweep over Hutchinson Community College.
The sophomore concluded the regular season with six kills, five digs while serving up a trio of Barton's 11 service aces in Barton's conference clinching 3-0 win at Cloud County Community College.
Nixon becomes the fifth different Cougar to earn weekly conference honors joining Elena Stankovic, Mina Kaneko, Phoebe Reyes and Naya Danenberg's consecutive honors in week four and five respectively.
Tonight, Barton opens postseason play at 6:30 p.m. hosting Pratt Community College in the first round of the Region 6/Plains District Tournament. A Cougar victory would continue the Cougars' hosting this weekend with Saturday's semifinal matches and the championship on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
