OLD BUSINESS
A. RESOLUTION: A Resolution Concerning the Involvement of Sitting Barton County Commissioners on Area Boards and Committees: -Commissioner Kirby Krier provided details. The adopted Resolution establishes guidelines for Commissioners when dealing with area boards and committees.
NEW BUSINESS
A. PROCLAMATION 2022-16: A Proclamation in Support of Manufacturing (MFG) Day: -Megan Barfield, President / CEO, Great Bend Chamber of Commerce, asked that the Commission adopt a Proclamation in support of Manufacturing (MFG) Day. Manufacturing Day (MFG Day) is held on the first Friday in October in order to provide students, parents and the public with information on modern manufacturing. Emphasis continues on engaging digital and virtual events throughout the country as a means to inspire the next generation to start careers in modern manufacturing. The Proclamation was adopted.
B. FAÇADE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT: Request for Extended Deadline – Andrew Mingenback, The Landing: -Mark Mingenback provided details. In September, 2021, Andrew Mingenback was awarded a $20,000.00 Façade Improvement Grant allocation for the property located at 2105 Forest, Great Bend. Since its inception, there have been supply line issues and historical considerations affected the project. The Commission extended the deadline to June 30, 2023.
C. FAÇADE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT: Request for Extended Deadline – Chelsea Morris, Chelsea Properties LLC: -Matt Patzner, Director of Operations, provided details. In September, 2021, Chelsea Morris, Chelsea Properties LLC, was awarded a $20,000.00 Façade Improvement Grant allocation for the property located at 1401 Main, Great Bend, Kansas. There have been vendor, supply line issues and historical considerations affecting the project. The Commission extended the deadline to June 30, 2023.
Other Business – Commissioner Krier discussed implementing solar energy improvements at the Courthouse, Sheriff’s Office and Detention Facility. Commissioner Barb Esfeld gave an update on her committees.
