Larned – James “Corky” Lyle Stout Jr, 62, passed away September 25, 2022 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita.
He was born March 23, 1960 in Valentine, Nebraska, the son of James Lyle Stout Sr. and Rosella Marie Paxton Sydow.
Moving from Nebraska, he was a Larned resident since 1986. He was a plumber for M&F Plumbing, Larned, and later worked for David Woods Hay Company. He was a member of Fort Larned Lions Club, coached rec sports, and enjoyed model railroad trains, building things, fixing things and was a true handyman.
On November 9, 2012 he married Sonja Froetschner in Larned. She survives.
Other survivors include; three sons, Charles “Chucky” Stout, Eldon Stout and Jonathon Turner, all of Larned; three daughters, Jamie (Bill) Huff, Bucklin, Tasha Stout and Katherine (Ry) Roth, both of Larned; a sister, Donna Decostes, Chadron, Nebraska; sixteen grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who he all loved like his own.
He was preceded in death by; a son, Patrick Gilpin, two sisters, Anita Spencer and Susan Whitten and a daughter-in-law, Elisa Thomas.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday September 30th at the Larned Cemetery with Bishop Mark Cowell presiding. The family requests casual attire. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned with family present from 5-7 p.m. Inurnment will be in the Larned Cemetery.
