Posted Feb 04, 2023 12:00 AM

The Kansas Wetlands Education Center’s Turtle Tots, a nature-based program developed for preschool-age children, ages 3 to 5, continues Feb. 10, 10:15-11:15 a.m., with the program “Cozy Animals”. We’ll read a book about how animals stay warm in the winter, explore furs, meet one of our furry ambassadors, conduct some simple experiments and make a craft. March’s program, “Eye Spy Animal Eyes”, March 17, 10:15-11:15 a.m., will investigate animal sight.

The one-hour programs, offered at no charge, introduce young children to the natural world around them with sensory experiences, while reinforcing colors, shapes, math and fine motor skills. When possible, sessions include outdoor time.

There is a minimum enrollment of 6 and a maximum of 12 children. Children must be accompanied by an adult caregiver and pre-registration for February’s program is required by Feb. 6. To register or for more information, call 620-566-1456 or 1-877-243-9268.
