The Barton Community College men's swimming and diving team performed sensational over the weekend at the Kansas Collegiate Showdown hosted at the Haysville Natatorium.
Competing as the lone NJCAA program, the Cougars accounted for 22 of the 28 titles in the triangular event competing against Sterling College and the University of Saint Mary.
Long distance specialist Enzo Vogt da Silva and freshman William McCabe each tallied four individual golds apiece to lead the Barton swimmers. Vogt da Silva notched his hardware in the 500-yard freestyle (4:55.03), 1000-yard freestyle (10:10.20), 1650-yard freestyle (17:18.13) and 400-yard medley (4:24.37) while McCabe collected his victories in the 100-yard freestyle (48.30), 200-yard medley (2:00.97), 100-yard butterfly (52.69) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.99).
Jethro Irvine, Dominik Strba and Louis Milczynski joined Vogt da Silva and McCabe picking-up a pair of first place finishes. Irvine securing his top two times in the 50-yard freestyle (23.68) and 100-yard medley (54.25) with Strba collecting his pair in the 200-yard butterfly (2:01.18) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:15.95) while Milczynski rounded out the multi individual winners in the 50-yard freestyle (21.93) and 100-yard freestyle (48.58).
Brody Feist had the biggest impact of the weekend resetting the program's record book in the 1-meter dive with a score of 152.35.
Also joining Feist with individual golds was Jonathan Beers in the 200-yard backstroke (2:12.74) and Cooper Cole's 50-yard breaststroke (27.33).
The Cougars swept the relay events claiming all four in the 400-yard freestyle (3:18.38), 200-yard medley (1:38.01), 800-yard freestyle (7:21.53) and 200-yard freestyle (1:26.67).
Barton concludes its' four weekend stretch Friday and Saturday at the UNK Invitational held in Kearney, Nebraska.

The Barton Community College women's swimming and diving team pieced together its' most successful weekend of the early season at the Kansas Collegiate Showdown hosted at the Haysville Natatorium.
Battling as the lone two-year program, the Cougars pieced together 11 titles in the 29 events competing against Sterling College and the University of Saint Mary.
Freshman Rachel Sims highlighted the weekend claiming one of the six individual golds for Barton while rewriting her earlier season's program record in the 1-meter dive with a score of 208.00.
Vali Bequette notched the shortest race of the weekend capturing the always-exciting 50-yard freestyle (27.26) while Linda Franco also added a gold in the thrilling 100-yard freestyle (57.23).
The Cougars swept the 200-yard events with Olivia Kerr touching the wall the fastest in the medley (2:22.04) and Silvana Jacquez Viveros in the backstroke (2:14.95).
Dominique Cos rounded out the individual awards with a gold in the 400-yard medley (5:05.51).
Barton was perfect in all five-relay events claiming the 400-yard medley (4:16.66), 400-yard freestyle (3:53.06), 200-yard medley (1:56.93), 200-yard freestyle (1:43.73) and 800-yard freestyle (8:50.70).
