Raymond E. McNett, age 67 years, of Great Bend, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday morning, August 12, 2020 in Great Bend. Raymond was born on June 4, 1953 at Great Bend to Champion Frederick and Marie Alice (Ward) McNett. He worked as an auto mechanic and owned and operated M & M Repair & Salvage in Great Bend for over 25 years. Raymond was united in marriage to Joan M. Thomas on February 16, 2013 at Great Bend, Kansas. He enjoyed drag racing, working on his brother Butch’s racecar, and loved to collect unique animals. Raymond was known to be a prankster, and loved spending time with his family, where he was always a wealth of knowledge.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Joan M. McNett of Great Bend, Kansas; four sons: Raymond McNett II of Plevna, Kansas, Terry Steele of Oceanside, California, Grant McNett of Great Bend, Kansas, and Jason (Desiree’) Linsner of Great Bend, Kansas; five daughters: Becky (Charlie) Richardson of Hoisington, Kansas, Geana (Jeff) Houser of Salina, Kansas, Casey (Heath) Orr of La Vista, Nebraska, Laura (Jared) Linsner of Great Bend, Kansas and Lisa (Trevor) Linsner of Great Bend, Kansas; twenty-one grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two brothers: Marvin (Marcia) McNett of Sylvia, Kansas and Fred McNett of Great Bend, Kansas; two sisters: Catherine (Howard) Johnson of Great Bend, Kansas and Janice Melder of Elmer, Louisiana; nieces and nephews. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Champion “Butch” McNett.
Cremation has been chosen. Graveside Inurnment Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 17, 2020 at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery north of Great Bend with Pastor James Davis officiating.
