The Fort Larned National Historic Site invites you to experience a day of living history during its annual Mess and Muster event at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 22nd.  Mess and Muster is hosted by the Fort’s volunteers known as the Old Guard.  The day will feature several re-enactments, drills, demonstrations, and special talks about what life was like during the days of the cavalry, infantry and Plains Indians.   This year’s activities will move from the Fort to Confrontation Ridge to revisit a historic Indian encounter site. The event is free and open to the public, however reservations are required for the evening dinner.  To find out more, call the Fort at 620-285-6911.  Fort Larned is six miles west of Larned on Highway 156.
