The Great Bend City Council went into two separate executive sessions,
totaling 35 minutes, at Monday’s meeting to discuss city administrator
candidates. The discussions resulted in no official announcement of the next
administrator. Interim City Administrator Logan Burns said the field of 25
applications is down to three finalists.
"We completed interviews last Wednesday of three candidates," said Burns prior to the executive session. "We'll be discussing those candidates further for the new position. Right now, hoping for a June start date for that."
Kendal Francis spent more than four years as city administrator but resigned in
early January to accept a similar position in Hutchinson.
Burns has been serving as interim administrator since being appointed last December with Police Chief Steve Haulmark acting as Burns’ consultant.
