Year number 10 of state baseball being hosted in Great Bend is coming in 2024. The Kansas State High School Activities Association announced their agreement with the Great Bend Recreation Commission that the Class 2-1A State Baseball Championships will be held at the Great Bend Sports Complex next May.
Great Bend Rec Director Chris Umphres said the agreement has been a good fit for the city.
"We've had it for quite a while, and they're coming again," said Umphres. "That's a good partnership we have with the school district and the city. It's another good event."
The dates of the next state tournament are May 23-24, 2024. Great Bend was chosen along with Manhattan, Salina, Wichita and Lawrence as host sites in 2024.
