On September 24, 2026, at approximately 9:00 a.m., the Barton County Communications Center was contacted and advised that agents of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security would be operating in the Great Bend area today.
No further information regarding the scope or nature of their activity was provided.
The Great Bend Police Department has not received any requests to assist the U.S. Department of Homeland Security agents at this time.
The Police Department will provide additional information if it becomes available.
