After over a decade of caring for families at Clara Barton Medical Clinic in Great Bend, Kelci Burkey, PA-C, has begun an exciting new chapter in her career, transitioning to Women's Health at Clara Barton Surgical Clinic in Hoisington.
Burkey joined Clara Barton Medical Center in 2015 and has been a trusted family practice provider for countless patients over the years. In May, she officially transitioned into her new role, where she now works alongside Dr. Jenna Sloan, OB/GYN, providing comprehensive women's healthcare. In addition to seeing patients in the clinic, Burkey assists with gynecologic procedures, helping expand access to specialized care for women throughout Barton County and the surrounding region.
For many women in the community, the transition offers the opportunity to receive specialized women's healthcare from a provider they already know and trust. Patients who previously saw Burkey for family medicine can now turn to her for their women's health needs while also continuing to receive mental health and medical weight management services. This allows patients to maintain an established relationship with Burkey while benefiting from an expanded range of specialized care.
Together, Burkey and Dr. Sloan provide care for women at every stage of life, offering annual well women exams that include Pap smears and breast exams, contraceptive care, including IUD and Nexplanon placement, and in-office procedures such as endometrial biopsies. They also evaluate and treat a variety of gynecological concerns, including heavy or irregular menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, perimenopause and menopause symptoms, and other gynecologic concerns. In addition, Dr. Sloan offers minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries, including hysterectomy, laparoscopic treatment of endometriosis, myomectomy, and ovarian cyst removal.
The transition is part of Clara Barton's continued investment in growing its Women's Health program. Plans are already underway to welcome an additional OB/GYN, Dr. Lexi Jackson, in the fall of 2027, further enhancing the range of women's health services available through Clara Barton.
