Otto Heden gave chase for the individual title, firing a 5-under 65 Monday morning followed by a 1-under 69 in the afternoon to lead by two into the final round. Sliding down into the second spot with a 5-over 75, Heden completed the three days at 1-under 209 as Garden City's Anthony DeSchutter carded a trio of 68 rounds in winning the title at 6-under 204.
In addition to Heden, the Cougars had four other Cougars in the top fourteen of the eighty-four participant field.
Warathan Thamachok placed 4th overall with a pair of 72 rounds on either side of a 68 to compile a 2-over 212 with Axel Bolander close behind at 4-over 214 with a 70 sandwiched in between a pair of 72 cards.
Tanapoom Kaewjoey led the second squad of entries with an 8th place overall, opening with a 69 followed by twin 73 rounds for a 5-over 215.
Carding consistent rounds of 74-75-73, Tom Lehmann finished a six-way tie for 14th with a 12-over 222.
Bouncing back from an opening 83, Ethan Bonnett moved up twenty-seven spots in the next two rounds in carding a 71 and 74 for a 27th spot 18-over 228.
In 38th position was Keegan O'Shea at 23-over 233 (77-75-81), Anthony Arriola in 44th at 29-over 239 (81-80-78), and Thantup Saengvut scoring a 34-over 244 (82-80-82) placed 52nd overall.
The Cougars are back on the links next Monday for the two-day Carmichael Cup held September 19-20 at Salina's Municipal Golf Course.
