GREAT BEND - Daniel “Dan” McKay, 69, passed away October 13, 2020, at the University Of Kansas Health System - Great Bend Campus. He was born on September 8, 1951, at Meade, to David J. & Mary (Clowers) McKay. He married Angie Caudill on December 19, 2011, at LaCrosse.
Coming from LaCrosse in 2013, Dan was a Great Bend resident. He was a civil engineer. He graduated with honors and enjoyed watching K-State play, as well as professional football. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include, his wife, Angie of the home; three sons, Reese McKay and wife Emily of Texas, Baxter McKay of Topeka, and Joshua Caudill of Hope; a daughter, Stephanie Krom and husband Joshua of Great Bend; his father, David J. McKay; a brother, David L. McKay and wife Cheryl; a sister in law, Tracey McKay of Wichita; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary McKay; and a brother, Kevin McKay.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 19, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
