Ayaka Nagano of the Barton Community College women's soccer team has been named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division I Women's Soccer Player of the Week.
In her collegiate debut, Nagano made an immediate impact by scoring twice on just two shots in the first half of Barton's 5-1 season-opening win over Western Iowa Tech on neutral turf in Dodge City.
Yesterday in Hutchinson, Nagano and the Cougars battled but came up short 1-0 to 12th ranked Trinity Valley Community College.
Barton will now have a two-week break before beginning Jayhawk Conference play on September 10 at Seward County Community College in a 6:00 p.m. kickoff.
