
The No. 9 ranked Barton Community College women's tennis team faced a demanding slate over the weekend, competing against four tough opponents at the Collin College Super Bash in Plano, Texas.
Barton opened its three-day stay in dominant fashion Thursday, blanking Jacksonville College 9-0. Returning to the courts Friday for a pair of matches, the Cougars earned a marquee victory over No. 8 Weatherford College before dropping an 8-1 decision to No. 3 Tyler Junior College. Wrapping up play Saturday, Barton battled host No. 4 Collin County Community College but came up short in a 7-2 final.
Leaving Texas with a 6-2 overall record, the Cougars now turn their attention to conference play beginning Thursday, April 2, hosting No. 6 Seward County Community College for a 1:00 p.m. first serve at the East Courts at Veterans' Memorial Park.
One week later, Barton travels to No. 13 Pratt Community College before concluding the conference slate on Tuesday, April 14, hosting No. 2 Cowley College.
