The Christmas parties are already in full swing around the Golden Belt. Sarge's Saloon in Great Bend is joining the fun but with a cause. Co-owner Lloyd Lewis II said everything takes place this Saturday.
"On Dec. 14, we have a chili cook-off competition going on," he said. "We'll have a DJ for the night. We're doing a toy drive with Central Kansas Toy Drive. We are collecting toys for children in the area and/or monetary donations so we can buy toys for any needy children in the area."
Anyone interested in the chili cook-off has until Friday to get entered. Saturday's toy drive will be an all-day event. Donors can drop off toys or monetary donations by Sarge's Saloon at 2801 Main Street in Great Bend. Call (620) 639-7373 with questions.
