No. 1 ranked Wyatt Weber backed up his ranking by taking first in the 138 pound weight division at the prestigious Rocky Welton Invitational at Garden City this weekend.
Weber pinned Ezavian Ortego from Canon City, CO in the championship match after reaching the finals with a 6-3 decision of Colin Bybee of Newton in the semi's.
As a team, Great Bend finsihed 8th out of 32 teams at the annual tournament that attracts teams from several different state's. Kaden Spragis helped with the effort by taking third at 120.
The Panthers wrestle at home Thursday in a Western Athletic Conference dual with Liberal.
