The five-person Board of Commissioners for the Great Bend Recreation Commission will be in search of a new member. Jessica Milsap, announced that she is moving to Wichita, marking Monday’s meeting as her last on the board.
"It wasn't planned," said Milsap. "It just kind of fell into place. It seems right. At the end of this month, I'll be moving. It's been a pleasure."
Along with Milsap, Randy Goering, Dr. Jonathan Pike, Colleen Newman and Chuy Loera serve on the board. Milsap was a city-appointed member, so Rec Executive Director Chris Umphres said he would be in contact with the City of Great Bend to start receiving interested candidates to take the vacant seat.
The Rec Board meets the second Monday each month at 4 p.m. at their offices on Stone Street.
