
The Barton County Historical Society’s board member Justin Engleman will give a program about local contractor T.C. Cork of Hoisington.
After T.C. Cork came to Hoisington in 1898 from Marshall, Illinois he began building houses and barns and remodeling existing structures with his brother-in-law. Engleman has identified more than 70 structures Cork built or remodeled and will present the history and facts and figures of each of these structures at 7 p.m., Monday, June 26 at the Barton County Historical Society, 85 S. Admission is free for members of the society and $5 for others wishing to attend the program. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the program will begin at 7 p.m. Light refreshments are provided and the bottled water for attendees is provided by Wheatland Electric. The Barton County Historical Society is open 10 a.m - 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and started additional summer hours in April, from 1-4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
