ACE Bail Bonding, a local bonding business, may answer their phone 24/7 but for the first time ever, have an official home.
Stacey Farris began writing bail bonds for her father, Joe Farris, until his passing in 2014. He had been a well-known bondsman for many years prior. Keeping with the family business, Rachel Dove added some additional help and organization coming on as an agent in 2015.
Both Stacey and Rachel hold Master level degrees in mental health field. Part of what Stacey is most proud of is their unique contribution to not only write a bail bond but help families in crisis navigate a highly stressful event.
Proper Boards & Picnics will be setting up a grazing board from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 3 where all are welcome to come and go at your leisure to ACE's "New Location Celebration" at 1110 Kansas, formerly Bayless Dry Cleaning.
The front has been completely remodeled - walls torn down, new paint and flooring. Staff has found some great things during the project - sponsorship cards, old photos - items they were able to share and return with family of the original owners.
All of the work has been done by Stacey's husband Ben Moses who will reserve the very back of the building for his welding and fabrication business.
"We are very excited for the opportunities the building will allow us to make our clients and their families comfortable while posting bond or on a visitation night at the local jail. Investing in the new building is our hope to keep the family business thriving for the future."
Stacey's 8- and 3-year-old children will be at the celebration Saturday wearing "Future Bondsman" and "Future Bail Enforcement" shirts - although she hopes they both first obtain law degrees before taking over.
