Midterm Elections: Final Tallies Still Ongoing
Democrats may have retained the Senate as Republicans made gains in the House, but tight contests across the nation in both chambers mean it remains to be seen what the final balance of power may be at this time. National Sorghum Producers will provide a more in-depth synopsis of midterm election results and what they mean for sorghum country when we have full results.

NSP Heads to NAFB Trade Talk Next Week
National Sorghum Producers Chairman Craig Meeker and VP of Communications Jennifer Warren will be in Kansas City next week for the National Association of Farm Broadcasters 79th annual convention. BASF Scholarship Application Open
The National Sorghum Foundation (NSF) and BASF are accepting applications for a joint scholarship that will be awarded January 2023, providing $2,500 for tuition for the 2022-2023 academic year. Scholarship applicants must be the child or grandchild of a National Sorghum Producers member and be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in an agriculturally-related curriculum. Sorghum Crop Update
Eighty-seven percent of the 2022 sorghum acreage had been harvested by November 6, two percentage points ahead of last year and 8 points ahead of the 5-year average. Harvest progress was ahead of the 5-year average pace in all six estimating states.
