The Kansas City Chiefs received one compensatory pick in the 2024 NFL Draft on Friday, pushing their overall total to seven selections.
Compensatory picks are allotted to teams that lost significant free agents the year prior and are determined by a formula based on salary, playing time and postseason honors. The newly acquired selection is in the fifth round (No. 172 overall).
Here's a look at the Chiefs' updated allotment of draft selections this year.
Round 1: No. 32 overall
Round 2: No. 64 overall
Round 3: No. 95 overall
Round 4: No. 131 overall
Round 5 (via Dallas): No. 158 overall
Round 5: No. 172 overall (Compensatory Pick)
Round 7: No. 252 overall
The 2024 NFL Draft kicks off on April 25 in Detroit and will continue over the course of three days.
