With Logan Burns taking over the role of Great Bend City Administrator on Aug. 12, the City of Great Bend is looking to fill the assistant city administrator position he left vacant.
The application process for the position will remain open until Oct. 4 at 5 p.m. Burns said interested candidates can fill out an application at the city’s website.
"As of Monday night, we have nine applications for the assistant city administrator job," said Burns. "If any councilmember is interested in sitting on the selection committee, get with Cody (Mayor Cody Schmidt)."
Mayor Schmidt will appoint a committee to assist in the selection process for the assistant city administrator job. The job description lists the position getting paid between $86,551 and $129,838.
The assistant administrator position was left vacant for several years prior to Burns getting appointed to the position in November 2022.
