The Great Bend Economic Development staff is getting geared up to host their first entrepreneurship program of 2024. “Entrepreneurial Mindset” is aimed to empower individuals to think like an entrepreneur.
Economic Development Director Sara Arnberger said this six-week class has been provided throughout the state by NetWork Kansas for years.
"We've wanted to do this for a while but could never find the right partners to put this together," said Arnberger. "We have Jim Correll who is going to lead facility the class. He's going to partner with local entrepreneur Shelly Peacock. She'll have the skills to continue doing that for us."
Participants will engage in discussions, video content and go through “Who Owns the Ice House?”, a book featuring the journey of entrepreneur Clifton Taulbert.
"We're wanting people to learn more, change the mindset and really embrace entrepreneurship in Barton County," said Arnberger. "We're excited to offer more things in that sector."
Participants can sign up for $100 on Great Bend Economic Development’s website, gbedinc.com. Classes begin Jan. 10 and there is a 50% rebate to anyone that attends at least five of the classes. The classes will take place at the Great Bend Events Center from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
