From Barton County
The Barton County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to receive comments and consider the draft changes to the “Current” Barton County Zoning Regulations – Version II as they pertain to Solar Energy Conversion Systems (SECS) and the future development of Large Scale Non-Commercial SECS or Commercial Scale SECS in Barton County.
This will affect Article III – District Regulations, Article VIII-B SECS and the Official Zoning Map. The public hearing is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024, at 9 a.m. in Room F-30 at the Barton Community College – Fine Arts Building, 245 NE 30 Rd, Great Bend.
There will be a “backup” date at the same location of Feb. 29, 2024, 9 a.m. in the event of inclement weather, lack of a quorum, or if it becomes necessary to continue the public hearing.
This public hearing is specifically to discuss the proposed regulations, so anyone interested in speaking or presenting will have to limit their discussion to this topic. Additionally, to be called to speak at the public hearing, you must register before the meeting.

All comments are limited to five minutes. Seating at this meeting will be limited so please sign up if you want to participate. The public is invited to attend and interested persons are encouraged to attend or submit written or oral comments prior to the meeting time that can be read on your behalf at the meeting.
