
Imogene Ione (Nolte) Christiansen, 94, passed away, with family at her side, January 28, 2025, at River Bend Assisted Living in Great Bend, Kansas. She was born February 17, 1930, in Stafford County to John and Elizabeth (Ukens) Nolte.
Imogene married Jesse Duane Christiansen December 18, 1951, in Raton, New Mexico. They made Great Bend their home in 1951. Jesse passed away September 21, 2009. Imogene loved all animals which paved her career working for Dr. Terry Turner at Ark Valley Veterinary Hospital as a groomer. She served as a Girl Scout Leader. Imogene was very talented making prayer shawls, knitting sweaters, and hats. She enjoyed reading. She was a faithful First United Methodist Church member where she served on many committees but, her compassionate heart led her to serve on the bereavement committee. She was also a P. Buckley Moss Society and E.H.U. member.
Survivors include daughters, Joan Klein of Russell, Dana Cheney and her husband Greg of Shawnee, Kim Christiansen and her husband Stan Light of Owasso, Okla.; brothers, James Nolte of Stafford, Roy Nolte of Hoisington; grandchildren, Doug Ulrich, Matt Ulrich (Deb), Lisa Ulrich, Jeremy Ulrich (Mindie), Aaron Cheney (Julia), Zac Cheney, Jenna Wann (Kelby), Kaity Hays (Cody); ten great grandchildren; she was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Mary Ulrich; brother, Gilbert Nolte; granddaughter, Emily Ulrich.
