From the Kansas Wetlands Education Center...
Monarchs, monarchs everywhere, at the Kansas Wetlands Education Center. We're seeing all stages of the monarch life cycle in the garden, including this handsome caterpillar, all of which bodes well for the species and KWEC's annual Butterfly Festival.
Mark your calendars for Sept. 23, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., when we'll celebrate butterflies and pollinators.
Also note the orange flower is tropical milkweed and the white is whorled milkweed. Plant it and they will come.
