Great Bend City Administrator Kendal Francis took time Monday night at
the city council meeting to send condolences to the family of the drag racer that passed away last
weekend at the SRCA Dragstrip in Great Bend.
Ronnie Hobbs lost control of his 2017 Mustang last Friday at the dragstrip.
According to the Great Bend Police Department incident log from June 3,
officials received the report of the fatality at 9:33 p.m.
"I'd like to express our condolences to the family of Ronnie Hobbs," said Francis. "Also, our sympathies to all of the SRCA membership and racing fans."
Dragstrip officials postponed the rest of the weekend races out of respect to Hobbs
and his family.
