Jacqueline Kay “Jackie” Hastings, 76, passed away March 9, 2024, at Azria Health, Great Bend. She was born November 14, 1947, in Stuart, Neb., to Gerald "Bud" and Hazel (Gossard) Papke. She married Konrad Hastings June 5, 1965, in Rawlins, Wyo. He survives.
Jackie, along with her husband who worked in the oilfield, had lived in numerous places; Gillette, Wyo., Willingston, N. Dak., Plentywood, Mont., Worland, Wyo., Farmington N. Mex., Enid, Okla., Craig, Col., Roosevelt, Utah, Scott City, Kan., Russell, Kan., and ending up in Great Bend. She had been a dedicated employee of Great Bend Manor, Rosewood Services, and the Boys Home. In her younger years, she had worked at A&W in Scott City. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Great Bend, and was a known Elvis Presley fan, having a vast collection of memorabilia. Above all, she enjoyed time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, attending countless sporting events.
Survivors include her husband Konrad of the home; two sons, Michael Hastings and Patrick Hastings, both of Great Bend; one daughter, Debbie Hastings of Great Bend; two sisters Jeraldine Humphrey of Buffalo, Wyo., and Connie Papke of Casper, Wyo.; and 11 grandchildren and 9 great grand children and one to arrive in July. She was preceeded in death by her parents, brother Gerry, nephew Gary Lee, and 2 brother in laws.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Great Bend, with Rev. Adam Wutka presiding. Interment will follow at Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2024, with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., all at Bryant Funeral Home.
